The Bijan Mofid Heritage Society (BMHS) is proudly announcing its official formation as a non-profit entity dedicated to the preservation, promotion and development of one of Iran’s most celebrated contemporary literary figures and his works. Bijan Mofid’s influence on modern Persian language, literature, theater, and intellectual growth is undeniable. The BMHS is committed to preserving the legacy of this cultural icon through gathering accurate information about his life and his creations, as well as offering a fuller image of the Iranian modern theatre for the future.
This Website will be a comprehensive digital library of his work, with comments, interviews and anecdotes from those involved, a media collection of what is available, possible virtual reunions of the surviving artists and perhaps even a meeting place for those interested in studying his work to stay in touch.
To achieve this, we are happy to introduce BMHS’ first volunteered Board of Directors consisting of Ms. Shima Mofid, Mr. Afshin Mofid and Ms. Nahal Nikou. Further information on plans and activities will be provided shortly. However, our first step is to create an informative website by interviewing key figures in Bijan Mofid’s life and career. We would also like to promote artistic works inspired by his legacy throughout this website. As you stay tuned for further announcements, we like to invite anyone interested in providing support, material and or information to contact us at: bijanmofidheritagesociety@gmail.com
